My Frankening Experiment Part Three

Hello hello! Hope you guys are doing fine (: Today I have one more franken that I've made to show you. I call this polish Circus-Circus and it is a mix of teal, yellow and red hexes and squares in a clear base.

I did three thin coats of Deborah Lippmann Amazing Grace as my base white color and then added a coat of Circus-Circus on top and finished with a top coat. I made sure I pack this one full of glitter so no extra coats and no extra drying time are required (:

And I love the result! As it turned out, I'm not too bad with the franken alchemy afterall :D I think bright glitters always look their best against light colored bases and white is my favorite for such manis.

Here are my polsihes.

Hungry Asian Belle

Good day to all! Hope Monday is not too cruel to you (: Today I have swatches of a gorgeous Hungry Asian polish called Belle to share with you. Belle is a lovely sweet mix of pink and brown hexes in a milky sheer base.

I did three thin coats to make it opaque and finished with a top coat. Formula was wonderful! Soft buttery application and quick drying time. Perfection!

And the shade is simply beautiful! I love neutral-ish shades with a twist, and Belle feels so charming and special so it goes on my favorite list instantly.

Here is Belle, the gorgeous in the bottle (:

My Frankening Experiment Part Two

Happy Saturday! Hope your weekend is fun and safe (: Today I have two more frankens that I've made to share with you. Well, these two don't have names... I was trying to come up with something, but nothing came to mind just yet (: So I'll call them Franken One and Franken Two.

Franken One sadly turned out not what I wanted it to be. I wanted to create a lovely emerald green and white glitter topper in a clear base, but sadly it seems like I didn't add enough glitter.. It is not bad, but it is not how I saw it in my mind. And Franken Two is a way better attempt I think. I wanted to create a polish resembling the appearance of forest moss, deep green with a bit of gold and black. It turned out a bit too emerald-ish, but I think still fine.

I've used MAC Fatigues as my base color for this mani. I did two coats and than I applied two coats of Franken One on my pinkie and my middle finger and one coat of Franken Two on my ring and index fingers. I think they turned out pretty good for my first time ever frankening experience (:

Here they are (:

My Frankening Experiment

Happy Friday or simply TGIF (: Hope you all have good plans for the weekend. Today I have a very special mani to share with you. It is so special to me because I mostly used the polishes that I've created during my frankening experiment. I love experimenting with glitters and suspension base when I have free time; I only wish I'd have more of it.

So today I've used two frankens and Deborah Lippmann Amazing Grace as my base color. The first franken is called Fairy Floss and it is a mix of matte pink, mint and silver gray hexes in a clear base. The second franken is called Fairy Pink Toes and it is a mix of matte pink, mint and white hexes accented with white micro glitter in a candy pink base.

I did three coats of Amazing Grace on my pinkie and my index finger and one coat of Fairy Floss. I used regular brush strokes and a bit of dabbing for application. And I have two coats of Fairy Pink Toes on my ring and index fingers. I was a bit surprised how opaque Fairy Pink Toes has turned out. It is still a jelly polish, but two coats gave me full opacity. Unexpected result (: When I was making these, I made sure I add a lot of glitters so I won't have to fish for anything and now I feel like I did everything right. I'm also quite happy with the suspension base I've purchased as I was looking for awhile and seems like I've got what I wanted.

The formulas were good. I was afraid the polishes will turn out to be too thick, but this is not the case. Overall I'm very happy how these two turned out. It was my first frankening experiment, and I thought my first attempt will result in a mix of crap :D I have a few more frankens to share with you tomorrow and on Saturday.

Here they are (:

Ruby Red Mani ^_^

Good day to all! Hope you're doing great (: Today I have a super magical ruby red manicure to share with you. I was going through my red glitter polishes and found Lynnderella Ruby Red Ruby which I've got last year and still didn't have an opportunity to try. I love red manicures, but for some reason I rarely do them...

Anywho I chose Deborah Lippmann It's Raining Men as my base color. And let me tell you a few words about this shade. First of all, it is an awesome one coater; it is so heavily pigmented that you have to be careful not to get it on your cuticle or your clean up might be a pain. Second, it is a perfect shade of red with orange undertones. I absolutely love it. It is my favorite red creme of all that I've ever tried. And the shade is so classy and gorgeous! If you happened to have a chance to get your hands on it, do it. I highly recommend this one.

Ok, back to my today's look. I did one coat of It's Raining Men and one coat of Ruby Red Ruby. I have to say I was a bit surprised with the formula of Ruby Red Ruby as I do own many Lynnderella polishes and none of them seems to have such a runny formula. The polish was constantly flooding my cuticle and my fingers' edges... So... Weird. It is manageable of course, but still weird for Lynnderella polishes. But other than that the formula was pretty good.

I love how this mani turned out! I feel like I'm wearing Dorothy's glitter slippers on my fingers if I may say it like that :D It seems magical and so pretty sparkling!

Here are my polishes!

Hungry Asian Skittles

Hi there! Hope you're all right (: Today I have another skittles look to share with you. I've had a few Hungry Asian soft shades for awhile and couldn't find time to try them all, so I've decided to make a skittles mani. All in one of some sort (: The shades I'm wearing today include Cookies and Cream, Brrr!, Tickled Pink and Li-Lacquer.

A bit more details about each:
-Cookies and Cream is a black micro glitter mix in a sheer white base;
-Brrr! (awesome name!) is a red and white hexes accented with tiny blue glitter in a blue jelly base;
-Tickled Pink is a blue hexes mix in a slightly shimmering pink base;
-Li-Lacquer is a mix of hexes of different colors in a soft lilac base.

I did three coats of each as they are quite sheer and finished with a top coat (sorry for a bit of tip wear as these are second day photos). I have Cookies and Cream on my pinkie, Li-Lacquer on my ring finger, Brrr! on my middle finger and Tickled Pink on my index finger. Formulas are wonderful, pleasure to work with. My favorite out of these four is Brrr! I absolutely love its jelly sheerness ^_^

Here they are (:

Nubar Base and Top Coats Review

Hi pretties! Hope you are all fine this Tuesday. I've recently purchased a new set of top and base coats from Nubar. After using them both for a week, I thought I should post my opinion as there are things that I did like and things that I didn't like.

Let's start with a topcoat. It is Nubar Diamont Seal & Shine Topcoat (fast drying).

Pros:
-Neatly looking bottle with a comfortable brush handle;
-Wide brush which allows you to cover a big chunk of the nail with just one swipe.

Cons:
-Fast dry. Yeah, I know how it sounds.. But I'd love to see the fast drying formula to actually dry on my nail, not on my brush when I'm trying to apply it;
-This topcoat pulls the polish underneath. One tiny delay in application and it will happen;
-Very easy-to-chip formula: I've got the first chip in just three hours after finishing my mani.

And now let's move to the base coat. It is Nubar Foundation Sticky Base Coat.

Pros:
-Its formula is really sticky and non-running one;
-Quick dry;
-Similar neatly looking bottle with easy-to-hold brush handle.

Cons:
-The same chipping kind of issue as with base coat: I can easily scrub my mani off the next day just using a cuticle stick (or teeth, another option) so I cannot really speak of any durability or long lasting results;
-It lets your color polish stain your nails. Badly! I was wearing intense red mani last week and after I took it off I felt like I really didn't: my nails were stained red all over! On another occasion I was wearing teal polish and we nails ended up being stained blue. Not great.

So I have very mixed feelings about this set. I'm going to continue using both of these products for now, but I will try to find a better alternative soon. Overall I would not recommend this set. But we are all different, so whatever didn't work for me might work for you.

Thanks for reading!

Lynnderella Mixed Feelings

Hi all! Hope your week is starting smoothly (: Today I have the last polish from Lynnderella Mixed Feelings collection to show us. It is (non)surprisingly called Mixed Feelings and it is a mix of assorted glitter of many sweet shades and colors in a clear base. I've picked Butter London Slapper as my base color for this mani.

I did two coats of Slapper and one coat of Mixed Feelings. It is indeed a great glitter topper. I've got this much glitter with just one quick blush application plus a bit of dabbing. The glitter was simply sticking to my brush in great amounts. So the polish is quite loaded which is great. Formula-wise is a good one too.

It is quite a statement mani and I love it. So intriguing and complicated, oh my, I adore all things glitter so much :D

Here are my polishes.

More Skittles ^_^ I Love NP

Hi beauties! I hope you all are having a great weekend so far (: Today I have more skittles for you. I still have a few I Love NP mini glitter toppers which I wanted to show you so I've decided to combine them all in a skittles look today.

The base colors I've picked are Deborah Lippmann It's Raining Men and Maneater, Inglot 628 and Chanel April. The I Love NP glitter toppers are as follows:
-11:59 is a a black glitter mix accented with gold glitter in a clear base;
-It's a Girl is a a mix of pink glitter in a clear base;
-Christmas In Bordeaux has all three Christmas colors: red, green and gold;
-Ginger Spice Lattes is a a combo of gold and copper glitter in a clear base.

I did two coats of each base color and one coat of glitter toppers. Finished with a quick dry topcoat. So I have 11:59 over Maneater on my pinkie; Christmas In Bordeaux over It's Raining Men on my ring finger; Ginger Spice Latte over 628 on my middle finger; and It's a Girl over April on my index finger. I Love NP formulas were all great and easy to work with.

I have mixed feelings about this mani. I'm not sure I've picked the best undies for the glitter toppers; I was struggling to find any brown-ish polish in my collection as it turned out it own close to none. I also don't feel like this skittles has a common feel... It is interesting, yes, but I feel like I could have done better. Or maybe I'm just a downer ><

Here is my (butt)load of polishes.

Stay tuned and thanks for looking!

Lynnderella Spot On

Happy Friday!! Hope you all have great plans for the weekend (: Today I have more swatches of Lynnderella Spot On polish from Mixed Feelings collection. It is a gorgeous glitter mix loaded with black and white moons, stars, dots, etc. in a lovely shimmering base. I've chosen OPI Meet Me On The Star Ferry as my base color for this look.

I did two coats of OPI and one coat of Spot On. It is really loaded with glitter so no second coat or dabbing is needed. The formula is wonderful except for regular sharp glitter edges. I somehow constantly fail to cover them nicely with a top coat; even after a few coats some of them are still scratching me.. Oh well.

This look seems very interesting to me. I'm not a huge fan of purple, but this mani I do like. It feels magical and the glitter mix is very bold and complicated.

Here are my polishes.

All That Glitters April Showers

Hi everyone! Today I have swatches of a beautiful blue glitter polish called April Showers from All That Glitters. April showers is a mix of assorted glitters in pastel purple, blue and pink hues in a shimmering light blue base. There are also big pink flowers. I've decided to use Inglot 970 as my base color (the same base color I've used yesterday) as it is a perfectly matching base to April Showers as well.

I did two coats of 970 and one coat of April Showers. The big flowers are quite hard to fish even if you let you bottle sit upside down for a few minutes before you start. It is a bit frustrating... There seem to be so many flowers in the bottle yet they're very hard to catch. But I've managed as you can see.

Formula was very good though. Great consistency and quick drying time.

Here are the polishes.

Different Dimension Light It Up Blue (Glow, Glow, Glow ^_^)

Hi all! Hope you guys are doing all right this Wednesday (: Today I have swatches of a magical polish to share with you. It's a rather simple polish really, but its main awesome feature is that it glows in the dark! Wow! I've never tried any polishes like this before. The polish I'm talking about is Different Dimension Light It Up Blue. It is a mix of blue and silver glitter with a bit of white hexes in a light blue (and glowing!) jelly base.

I've chosen Inglot 970 as my pretty blue base color. I did two coats of 907 and two coats of Light It Up Blue and finished with a top coat. Although Light It Up Blue was a bit thick formula-wise, I still think that both formulas were great.

This photo shows the glowing effect. It is pretty strong especially if you hold your hand in front of a lamp for awhile (: It wasn't easy to catch the effect in photo, but we did what we could.

It is such a fun mani to wear! It feels awesome and weird at the same time, but I do love it. It freaking glows! I feel like I'm a bulb :D

Here are my polishes.

Lynnderella Stay Goodbye

Hello there (: Hope you're all fine! Today I have swatches of another awesome Lynnderella polish to share with you. It is called Stay Goodbye and it is a part of Mixed Feelings collection. Stay Goodbye is a mix of pastel and bright glitters of different sizes and shapes in a beautiful shimmering base. I've picked MAC Midsummer's Dream as my base color for this mani.

I did three coats of Midsummer's Dream and one coat of Stay Goodbye and finished with a top coat. The formulas were good and the glitter was well behaved.

The only thing which is a bit annoying about many Lynnderella polishes is that even though I did two thicker coats of top coat, some sharp glitter edges were still sticking out... I don't have any Glitter Tamer that Lynnderella used to make left so I have to be cautious when I wear her polishes.. But it is a minor thing really.

Here are the polishes.

Stay tuned and thanks for looking!
