Confetti Nails

Happy Friday! Hope you guys have nice plans for the weekend (: Today I have a confetti-inspired mani to share with you. It turned to be quite bold and intriguing or at least that is how it it seems to me (: I chose MAC Nocturnelle as my black base and Cirque Le Invader as my glitter topper.

I did three coats of MAC (could get away with just two though, but I'm used to doing three with this particular black shade) and one coat of Le Invader and finished with a top coat.

Now about the formula here.. Le Invader's formula is definitely not a dream one and is quite hard to work with. It is not too thick, but pulling and so glitter loaded that it hardly allows for an even quick coverage. Glitter tends to build up near the tip of the nail so quite a lot of dabbing and attempts to even it all out are required. Drying time is long, long, long.. I wanted for more than an hour and the polish was still easy to smudge... I'm disappointed with this polish..

I like this look overall; it is very celebratory and positively spirited. So it is not at all that bad.

Here they are.

Stay tuned and thanks for looking!

Pretty Pastels

Hello there (: Today I have a super sweet pastel mani to share with you! I really love how it turned out so I'm quite eager to share (: I've picked three pastel shades from Lime Crime, a new brand to me, but I already love it so much! I mean not only the polishes are great, but bottles look so awesome too. The three shades I'm wearing today are Parfair Day, Peaches Love Cream and Crema de Limon.

I did two coats of each, waiting for them to dry fully, then stuck some tape to my nails and did a bit of color blocking fun (: I felt like I could not live without a bling so I added a thin coat of Models Own Jack Frost on top and sealed everything with a top coat. This mani took more time that my regular ones, but I think the result is totally worth it (:

And the formulas were wonderful; I have no reasons to complain. And I love, love, love this look!

Here are the polishes.

Milky Skittles

Happy Wednesday to all! I hope you guys are doing well (: Today I have a milky skittles look to share with you. I love neutral colored sheer polishes with loads of glitter, and I cannot stop wearing them :D I chose four polishes for this mani and they are KBShimmer What's Your Damage and Pump My Pride, Darling Diva Honey Do and Lush Lacquer Sugar Daddy.

I did three coats of each and finished with a top coat. Honey Do turned out to be very sheer, but I left it at three coats as I think it is an ok opacity. The formulas were all very good and absolute pleasure to work with.

My favorite of these four are Honey Do and What's Your Damage. The glitter colors in both are just very appealing to me. I love neons especially over or in light colored bases, so What's Your Damage is a perfect neutral polish with a twist for me. And the glitter combo of Honey Do looks so sweet, tender and innocent. I will most certainly wear these two as full manis.

Here are my polishes!

Sparkling Greens ^_^

Hi beauties! Hope you are doing fine this Tuesday! Today I have a sparkling green mani to share with you. Green is one of my favorite color together with yellow, orange and pink as I adore brights (: So today I chose four green shades with very different finishes and attempted to create a nice skittles look. All polishes that I use today are new to me as I've never tried these brands before: Pretty Serious, Cirque and Darling Diva.

I have two shades from Pretty Serious, VT100 and Liquid Leprechaun, Cirque Erda and Darling Diva Leprechaun's Gold. I did two coats of each and finished with a top coat. I have Erda on my pinkie (and my thumb), Leprechaun's Gold on my ring finger, VT100 on my middle finger and Liquid Leprechaun on my index finger.

Formula-wise all four are amazing. I was a bit hesitant about applying Liquid Leprechaun and Leprechaun's Gold on their own as I wasn't sure if they will build up to the opacity. But both are so glitter-loaded that it is not an issue at all. Overall I'm very happy with the formulas.

And the greens, ah! I love it! I'm not sure though that this look is the best to show all four of them as they are just so different, but on the other hand, here is what skittles are for (:

KBShimmer Blinded By The Bright

Happy Monday! I'm hoping this Monday is kind to you all (: Today I have swatches of a gorgeous polish from KBShimmer Summer 2013 collection. It is called Blinded By The Bright and it is a mix of glitter hexes of different sizes and colors in a bright neon yellow base. I adore bright shades, so this was a must try.

I was thinking to do a white base first, but then I've changed my mind and simply layered three thin coats on its own. Stunning show stopper (:

Formula was very good! I enjoyed working with this sweetheart.

Here is the goodness in the bottle.

There Is No Such Thing As Too Much Glitter ^_^

Hi all! Hope you are doing fine this Friday (TGIF :D) So today I'm wearing a glitter loaded mani (as usual) which I'd love to share with you. I was going through my orange glitters and could not pick one to wear, so I've decided to do another skittles look (: Pretty typical of me :D

My base color today is OPI Chop-Sticking To My Story and the four glitter toppers are Lynnderella Glass House, Cauldron Drippings and Witch Caldron Was It? and Femme Fatale Incendius. Two coats of OPI (which is an awesome one coater, but two coats because I'm a two coats girl :D) and two coats of each of the toppers.

I have Glass House on my pinkie (and my thumb), Cauldron Drippings on my ring finger, Incendius on my middle finger and Witch Cauldron Was It? on my index finger. Now about the formulas. Incendius was an absolute perfection. Lynnderella ones not so much.

I'm not sure what is happening with new Lynnderella polishes as they all are so freaking runny! I own a lot of her polishes, and the older ones which I've purchased about a year and a half ago or so have great formulas: not too thick, not too runny and packed with glitter. New formulas are flooding my cuticles and I have to fish for anything bigger that micro glitter... WTF?? Maybe they use different suspension base now, but no matter how I look at it, I still feel disappointed.

Here are my polishes!

Hot Sparkling Neons

Hello there! Hope you are all fine this Thursday! Today I have a hot sparkling neon mani to share with you. I've recently purchased KBShimmer Summer 2013 collection and I will be swatching these new polishes for you over the next few days. Today I've picked two awesome polishes, 24 Carrot Bold and Don't Pink Twice, to combine in a single mani.

So 24 Carrot Bold is a hot neon orange with silver sparkle and Don't Pink Twice is a hot neon pink with purple shimmer. Both of these polishes have a matte finish (which can be easily converted to glossy with a top coat if matte is not your thing).

I did two coats of Don't Pink Twice as my base color, waited for it to dry completely, stuck a few pieces of tape onto my dry nails and did one coat of 24 Carrot Bold for a color block look. I removed the tape quickly and added a coat of Models Own Jack Frost sparkles. I'm not really into matte neons, so I've decided to keep it glossy and applied a regular top coat.

I think this man turned out quite interesting. I love brights, and sparkling brights just steal my heart away (: Formulas were wonderful. I was quite amazed with super fast drying time.

Here they are (:

My Frankening Experiment Part Three

Hello hello! Hope you guys are doing fine (: Today I have one more franken that I've made to show you. I call this polish Circus-Circus and it is a mix of teal, yellow and red hexes and squares in a clear base.

I did three thin coats of Deborah Lippmann Amazing Grace as my base white color and then added a coat of Circus-Circus on top and finished with a top coat. I made sure I pack this one full of glitter so no extra coats and no extra drying time are required (:

And I love the result! As it turned out, I'm not too bad with the franken alchemy afterall :D I think bright glitters always look their best against light colored bases and white is my favorite for such manis.

Here are my polsihes.

Hungry Asian Belle

Good day to all! Hope Monday is not too cruel to you (: Today I have swatches of a gorgeous Hungry Asian polish called Belle to share with you. Belle is a lovely sweet mix of pink and brown hexes in a milky sheer base.

I did three thin coats to make it opaque and finished with a top coat. Formula was wonderful! Soft buttery application and quick drying time. Perfection!

And the shade is simply beautiful! I love neutral-ish shades with a twist, and Belle feels so charming and special so it goes on my favorite list instantly.

Here is Belle, the gorgeous in the bottle (:

My Frankening Experiment Part Two

Happy Saturday! Hope your weekend is fun and safe (: Today I have two more frankens that I've made to share with you. Well, these two don't have names... I was trying to come up with something, but nothing came to mind just yet (: So I'll call them Franken One and Franken Two.

Franken One sadly turned out not what I wanted it to be. I wanted to create a lovely emerald green and white glitter topper in a clear base, but sadly it seems like I didn't add enough glitter.. It is not bad, but it is not how I saw it in my mind. And Franken Two is a way better attempt I think. I wanted to create a polish resembling the appearance of forest moss, deep green with a bit of gold and black. It turned out a bit too emerald-ish, but I think still fine.

I've used MAC Fatigues as my base color for this mani. I did two coats and than I applied two coats of Franken One on my pinkie and my middle finger and one coat of Franken Two on my ring and index fingers. I think they turned out pretty good for my first time ever frankening experience (:

Here they are (:

My Frankening Experiment

Happy Friday or simply TGIF (: Hope you all have good plans for the weekend. Today I have a very special mani to share with you. It is so special to me because I mostly used the polishes that I've created during my frankening experiment. I love experimenting with glitters and suspension base when I have free time; I only wish I'd have more of it.

So today I've used two frankens and Deborah Lippmann Amazing Grace as my base color. The first franken is called Fairy Floss and it is a mix of matte pink, mint and silver gray hexes in a clear base. The second franken is called Fairy Pink Toes and it is a mix of matte pink, mint and white hexes accented with white micro glitter in a candy pink base.

I did three coats of Amazing Grace on my pinkie and my index finger and one coat of Fairy Floss. I used regular brush strokes and a bit of dabbing for application. And I have two coats of Fairy Pink Toes on my ring and index fingers. I was a bit surprised how opaque Fairy Pink Toes has turned out. It is still a jelly polish, but two coats gave me full opacity. Unexpected result (: When I was making these, I made sure I add a lot of glitters so I won't have to fish for anything and now I feel like I did everything right. I'm also quite happy with the suspension base I've purchased as I was looking for awhile and seems like I've got what I wanted.

The formulas were good. I was afraid the polishes will turn out to be too thick, but this is not the case. Overall I'm very happy how these two turned out. It was my first frankening experiment, and I thought my first attempt will result in a mix of crap :D I have a few more frankens to share with you tomorrow and on Saturday.

Here they are (:

Stay tuned and thanks for looking!

Ruby Red Mani ^_^

Good day to all! Hope you're doing great (: Today I have a super magical ruby red manicure to share with you. I was going through my red glitter polishes and found Lynnderella Ruby Red Ruby which I've got last year and still didn't have an opportunity to try. I love red manicures, but for some reason I rarely do them...

Anywho I chose Deborah Lippmann It's Raining Men as my base color. And let me tell you a few words about this shade. First of all, it is an awesome one coater; it is so heavily pigmented that you have to be careful not to get it on your cuticle or your clean up might be a pain. Second, it is a perfect shade of red with orange undertones. I absolutely love it. It is my favorite red creme of all that I've ever tried. And the shade is so classy and gorgeous! If you happened to have a chance to get your hands on it, do it. I highly recommend this one.

Ok, back to my today's look. I did one coat of It's Raining Men and one coat of Ruby Red Ruby. I have to say I was a bit surprised with the formula of Ruby Red Ruby as I do own many Lynnderella polishes and none of them seems to have such a runny formula. The polish was constantly flooding my cuticle and my fingers' edges... So... Weird. It is manageable of course, but still weird for Lynnderella polishes. But other than that the formula was pretty good.

I love how this mani turned out! I feel like I'm wearing Dorothy's glitter slippers on my fingers if I may say it like that :D It seems magical and so pretty sparkling!

Here are my polishes!
